This months new world cigar brand of the month is Plasencia Cigars, if you haven't read our post about the brand and it's history you can check it out HERE. Each week we focus on one of the cigars from the brand that we think is an exceptional example.
This week our cigar of the week is the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Generation V a spectacular example of a Salomon shape cigar.
So why have we chosen the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Generation V Salomon (7x58) as this weeks cigar of the week?
Firstly, the vitola, it's really unusual, a box pressed Salomon. Now I have to confess this ticks 2 cigar boxes I love - firstly I love figarados and secondly I love box pressed cigars. The press at the head of the cigar isn't too heavy though, so you don't need to worry about square edge in your mouth!
Secondly, the Alma Fuerte was a bold statement for Plasencia to make. After generations of the family producing cigars for other famous brands from their factories and tobacco, this was the first line of cigars that appeared with the Plasencia name on them. The Plasencia's dug deep in to their tobacco vaults to create this line with tobaccos aged between 8 and 12 years. We could have picked any of the 4 cigars from the Alma Fuerte line for our cigar of the week, they are all absolutely exceptional and 3 of the 4 are eye catching vitolas. There is the Sixto which is a box pressed hexagon shape, the Nestor Toro which is box pressed and a Robusto which is gently pressed.
Finally, you don't need to take my word for how good the Alma Fuerte cigars are, just look at the awards below they have won!
